Apple iPhone 5 gets certified in China earlier than expected

Well, what do you know? It looks like our friends in China will be getting their share of the iPhone 5 sooner than everybody has expected. M.I.C. Gadget is reporting that the Chinese government agency has certified two models of the iPhone 5. Previous iPhone that made it to China was granted with China Compulsory Certification approval two months after it was released. This time around it’s only less than a week since the iPhone 5 went on sale in the U.S.

So for our friends in China this means that the iPhone 5 might see an October release as the earliest time. While the certification was early, the iPhone 5 still needs to get MIIT network license and approval from the China Radio Management agency before Chinese retailers and the official Apple Store release the units in their store shelves and make them available for sale.

Of course, the October release date is still tentative and only Apple knows when the iPhone 5 will be released in China. But still this certification approval is a big step towards the iPHone 5 seeing the light of day in the Chinese market.
